James Park is a serial entrepreneur with a passion for creating great products and companies. Fitbit is the third startup that he has founded. Previously, James was a Director of Product Development at CNET Networks, where he led product management, engineering, and design for Webshots. Before CNET, James was a co-founder of Windup Labs, which was acquired by CNET in 2005, and prior to Windup Labs, he was the co-founder and CTO of Epesi Technologies. James also worked at Morgan Stanley, where he helped develop trading strategies and software for a quantitative trading fund. James never quite finished his computer science degree at Harvard College.
Eric Friedman is an experienced technologist who loves to create and scale innovative consumer applications. At CNET / Webshots, Eric led the engineering team for one of the largest photo sharing sites in the world, with 500+ million stored photos and 20+ million monthly visitors. Before Webshots, he was a co-founder of Windup Labs, which created HeyPix, one of the first P2P photo sharing applications. CNET Networks acquired Windup Labs in 2005. Prior to Windup Labs, Eric was a founding engineer of Epesi Technologies and was also a technical member of the Real-Time Collaboration Group at Microsoft. Eric has a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from Yale University.
Andy is responsible for all aspects of Fitbit’s global legal affairs. He has over 20 years of executive-level legal experience at companies in the mobile, digital media, consumer electronics, and software industries. Before joining Fitbit, he served as general counsel to a number of high profile venture-backed companies, including Bytemobile, MobiTV, Danger, and ReplayTV. Andy has helped structure and negotiate transactions covering such diverse areas as wireless distribution of music and television services, software licensing, electronics manufacturing and distribution, and cloud-based services. Andy has also held senior legal and business affairs positions at the RCA Records Label/BMG Entertainment, and Sony Music Entertainment Inc. A member of the State Bars of both California and New York, he holds a J.D. degree from Northwestern University School of Law and a B.A. from Oberlin College.
Hans has a proven track record in product development, supply chain, and information technology executive management. His 30 years of experience include 15 at Hewlett-Packard in the computer products and printer groups and numerous successful early-stage high technology companies. His previous positions include COO of Skyline Solar, VP of Operations and Engineering at Element Labs (acquired by Barco), VP of Operations at OQO, Dash Navigation (acquired by RIM), ConvergeNet (acquired by Dell) and JetFax (NASDAQ: JTFX). He holds a MS in Engineering, Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Stanford University and BS in Electrical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Woody has over 20 years of experience with high-growth consumer product companies. Since joining Fitbit in 2010, Woody has overseen all marketing, sales, and business development activities and led the company’s rapid growth and overseas expansion. Previously Woody was Executive Vice President and member of the Board of Directors of CamelBak Products LLC, where he managed sales, marketing, and R&D, including CamelBak's successful entry into new markets and new product categories. Prior positions include Partner at Avanti Growth Partners, a private equity and consulting firm focused on small, high-growth companies; Senior Vice President at Kransco Partners LLP, a private equity firm; Director of Business Development at Kransco Group Companies; Director of Development at Visa International; Product Manager at General Mills; and Analyst at Cambridge Associates. Woody has an MBA from Stanford Business School and a BA from Williams College.
Mark is responsible for Sales and Channel Marketing in North and South America, focusing on growing Fitbit’s business with our best in class retail partners. Mark has 20 years of sales and marketing experience with mobile and wireless consumer electronics products. Prior to Fitbit, he led US sales for TomTom, was VP of Sales and Marketing for Navigon (now a Garmin brand) and held a variety of sales management roles in the PDA and smartphone industry at Palm, Inc. Mark has a BS in Marketing from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College. His Fitbit spends a lot of time visiting customers and logs many steps while running through airports.
Tim Rosa is Fitbit’s VP of Global Marketing and responsible for brand & product marketing, partnerships, advertising & media, PR & events, Fitbit.com, premium services, CRM, customer acquisition, engagement and monetization. Tim has more than 15 years of experience leading marketing for iconic brands including Fitbit, Electronic Arts, DivX, 2K Sports and ESPN Videogames. Most recently Tim was VP of Global Brand Development at Electronic Arts, where he led branding for FIFA, Madden, Battlefield and Need for Speed, among others. Prior to EA, he was the VP of Marketing at digital video pioneer DivX leading the company into acquisition. Prior to this, Tim led marketing efforts for the famed video game publisher, 2K Sports, and increased NBA 2K marketshare from 10 to 80 percent in five years. Tim attended the University of Michigan-Flint and lives in Mill Valley where he spends his "play" time surfing, playing ice hockey, mountain biking and trail running Mt Tam.
Tim Roberts is responsible for the Fitbit digital experience, including the website, mobile applications, and APIs. Tim has spent the past 16 years crafting technology products. He was the founder and CEO of Infectious, a crowd-sourced, print-on-demand platform, and has been a founder or executive of such projects as Twitter/Odeo and Bigstep. He has also made some good looking products at places such as Yahoo!, Netscape, Organic Online, T/Maker, and Lotus. Tim has a BA from Vassar College. When not sedentary in front of a computer, he loves taking his Fitbit out for long runs on the hilly trails around the Bay Area. The Fitbit likes that.
Meena brings over 20 years of strong financial, operational and business strength, along with “Big 4” public accounting experience to lead Fitbit's finance, accounting, and human resources functions. Recently, Meena was VP of Finance and Human Resources at Stratify, Inc., a technology services company which was acquired by Iron Mountain, Inc., in 2007. Prior to Stratify, Meena spent eight years at PriceWaterhouseCoopers performing audits of several high tech clients. Meena is a Chartered Accountant from India, Certified Public Accountant in California, and holds an MBA from the East Carolina University.
Gareth is responsible for Fitbit's Sales and Marketing organizations in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. He has over 20 years of experience in Global Sales and Marketing, and if he'd worn his Fitbit during this time, it would have earned millions of steps across Hong Kong, Australia, and Europe. Gareth previously worked as a GM in Europe for Coca-Cola and Mars and then for consumer electronics companies Iomega, Kodak Cameras, and Flip Video. He helped pioneer the successful introduction of Kodak Digital Cameras into Europe in the early 2000s and was involved with Flip Video both before and after the Cisco acquisition. At Fitbit, Gareth led launches in the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Israel, Dubai, and South Africa.
Yolanda Chan joins Fitbit with over 20 years of regional management experience in the technology and consumer electronics industry. Yolanda is charged with strategic planning to drive Fitbit’s market-leading connected health and fitness technology into some of the world’s most populous and rapidly growing markets such as China, Japan, Korea, Australia, India and Southeast Asia. Prior to Fitbit, Yolanda was VP of Asia Pacific for Promethean, a global creator of innovative teaching and learning technologies for the education sector. At Promethean, she was also responsible for the development and execution of the company’s strategies to drive growth, market leadership and customer satisfaction in over 15 countries. Before Promethean, Yolanda was Regional Director of the Microsoft Home and Entertainment Division, where she was responsible for management and leadership of Asia’s overall sales, distribution and retail strategies. Yolanda was at Microsoft for twelve years where she progressed through a range of leading sales and marketing positions across the region.
Bill has over 30 years of experience and a proven track record of managing companies through rapid growth, including pre-revenue start-ups and companies in excess of $1 Billion in revenue. He most recently guided Vocera Communications through an IPO in 2012 that was one of the top 10 performing tech IPO’s of the year. Prior to Vocera, Bill was the CFO at Force10 Networks, which he guided to a successful exit through the sale of the company to Dell after managing growth from $20 million to over $200 million. Over the course of his career, Bill has raised over $1 billion in capital, and installed business systems and processes required to support scale. He holds an MBA in Finance from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University and has a BS in Accounting from the New York Institute of Technology.
